Mr. Nnambdi Azike, General Manager, Filmhouse Cinema Samonda Ibadan has said the cinema is doing tremendously well in comparison with other Filmhouse Cinemas across Nigeria.
In an exclusive interview with IBPulse, Azike said
“As confidential as that might be, I will tell you that Filmhouse Samonda is doing tremendously well. We are one of the most success Filmhouse branches in our chain. We took it upon ourselves to overcome all obstacles. Surulere is our number one, and Samonda is up there,” he said.
He didn’t actually say the position of Filmhouse Samonda in terms of sales, but I’m guessing the cinema is the second most successful Filmhouse Cinema after the Surulere outlet.
Just to bring this feat into perspective, it would be worthy to note that according to Filmhouse’s official website, the company is operating in Lagos (Surulere and Apapa), Calabar, Port Harcourt, Kano, and Ibadan.
He also confirmed to IBPulse that reconstruction works are underway at the Dugbe outlet and the cinema will be reopened this year.
“As it is now, I can tell you that we are rebuilding. All hands are on deck to make sure that Dugbe is back in a few months.”
Azike is my guest this week on the Made In Ibadan Podcast series. He spoke on more issues including Viva Cinema, the Ibadan moviegoer, what is new at Filmhouse Cinema, and several other exciting topics.
