Governor Ajimobi in Dublin, Ireland in search of ‘investments’ [PICTURES]
Last night, I saw images on social media of the visit of Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi to Ireland’s capital city of Dublin. According to a post on Oyo State Government’s official social media page, the governor was in Ireland to discuss job creation, investment opportunities, tourism, enterprise and innovation in Oyo State with senior members of the Irish government.
“Still in the consistent process of creating and expanding the economic possibilities of Oyo state. Governor Abiola Ajimobi discusses investment opportunities in Oyo State to the government of Ireland and other top firms in Dublin,” the governor’s social media team said.
But not all Oyo state citizens believe the governor visited Dublin with the intention of securing investments for Oyo state.
Orimadegun Bashir Ayinde said: “Excursion with picture projects; he has never brought any investor to Oyo state since he assumed office as governor. If I’m not correct, please show me just one.”
But Kunle Farayola thinks otherwise, he said: “The governor has good intention of transforming Oyo state to a mega state but some members of opposition parties who are planted into his cabinets will jeopardize his efforts.”
Only time will tell if the governor really visited Ireland to attract investors to Oyo state or he visited just to take pictures and shake hands with Irish leaders. But the governor is fine sha, and his photographer is very good. Check out the pictures from the trip, photos courtesy the state government.
