Here is Governor Ajimobi’s direct phone number
Nigeria’s controversial political website, SaharaReporters on Monday published the phone numbers of Nigeria’s State governors on Facebook and Twitter (read the original report here). It said it is part of its efforts to enhance governmental transparency and accountability in the country.
“By arming Nigerians with those contact numbers, SaharaReporters hopes to foster greater interaction and communication between voters and their State chief executives,” it said.
The numbers released include that of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state which according to Sahara Reporters is 0810 000 0004.
Here is the full list of the direct phone lines of governors in Nigeria as released by Sahara Reporters. Governor Ajimobi has an interesting (customised) line.

I guess the governor would have to get a new number or brace himself for barrage of phone calls at odd hours. But, seriously though, allowing the citizens to have the direct numbers of their leaders isn’t an entirely bad thing since it will allow them to have direct access to information on developments directly from the citizens. But I doubt our leaders think like that.
“I don’t see why a governor’s phone number should be a secret. Not allowing voters whom they represent have access to them is unimaginable. How then do they know the issues the people are facing to enable them address them? Unless the governors and other politicians are not in office for the purpose of serving the people then they can go incommunicado,” a Nigerian posted on Sahara Reporters.
