Ladoja reveals his latest ambition – and he has my support on it

The under-performance of the PDP and APC is reigniting the call for other vibrant political choices and the National leader of Accord Party and former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, seems to have an answer to that – a coalition of opposition parties.

Speaking yesterday, Ladoja said the Accord Party will lead the coalition to mop up all opposition parties into a big third force political platform. Speaking at the inauguration of state and local government executives of the party at a ceremony held at the party secretariat in Ibadan, the Osi Olubadan, who aligned with the view expressed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) are not in the best of shape, said it had become imperative for Accord and others to provide a credible alternative platform to the two.

He disclosed that he and others are striving to bring the initiative into fruition and, in return, bring about a Nigeria of their dream – a land of abundant life for the citizenry where the basic necessities of life like water, electricity, good roads would not be negotiable.

According to him, the political leadership across Nigeria needs to be selfless; he said they also need to put the well being of the citizenry above personal gains.

He enjoined the new executives of the party to be fair to every ward councillor and local government chairmanship aspirant, ensuring that only people’s choices emerge. He also advised aggrieved members to return to the party to support the efforts of the leaders and the party officers to win the 2019 election beyond reasonable doubt.

In his remark, the leader of the Accord Party caucus in the state House of Assembly, Honourable Kehinde Oloya, pledged the loyalty of the state eight lawmakers from the party to Ladoja and the party. He advised the new party officers to emulate the honesty of the former governor in their dealings with members of the party and charged them to deliver their constituencies to the party in the council elections as well as the 2019 elections.
