4000 undergraduates to attend 2015 Wake-up and Smell the Coffee event in Ibadan
On Saturday September 19, the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan will host 4000 undergraduates from 6 universities across the southwest region of the country who will take part in the 2015 edition of Wake-up and Smell the Coffee (WSC), an event which will be held in partnership with the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, University of Ibadan.
The 2015 WSC will centre its discussions on specific sectors of Finance, Technology, Media and Fashion with highlights on the entrepreneurial opportunities across these key areas. It will foster interactions between student attendees and various speakers and panellists who are lead entrepreneurs, co-founders and senior executives of major organizations and start-ups across these key sectors.
Some of the scheduled speakers and panellists include Akpor Kentebe of Verse29ltd, Marek Zmylowski of Jovago, Oluseun Onigbinde of Budgit, Amaka Kentebe of Scuup, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji of Andela, O. O. Nwoye of Call Base, and Oluyomi Ojo of Printivo.
This year’s edition which is the 6th will be a 2-day event commencing on Friday 18th September with a special Hackathon event. The Hackathon will feature 5 teams of university students who will vie for first place in the task of developing locally relevant health and education solutions within a 24-hour time bracket.
The event is organised by is organised by Inceptum Services led by its lead officer Mr. Emeka Ossai, also the organizers of the Nigerian Campus Enterprise Challenge and he said: “We have added this Hackathon element to the Event this year to challenge students to turn problems around them into ideas which can be invested in and scaled rather than engage in mere verbal protests.”
