Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state sacks top management staff of BCOS Ibadan
The governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, last Friday authorized the sack of the top management staff of the Bashorun-based Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS). The governor’s action was officially said to be in line with his restructuring intentions for the establishment.
He had hinted the BCOS workforce of his restructuring plans when he paid an unscheduled visit to the establishment although he did not inform them of his approach.
Confirming the development, the Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Communication and Strategy, Mr Yomi Layinka, described it as a painful decision taken by the government.
“It is part of the ongoing reorganisation at the BCOS,” he said.
According to media report, the letter handed over to the management staff and heads of departments stated that they were being ‘disengaged’.
Does ‘disengaged’ mean sacked, fired or retired? I’m guessing the last word on this matter has not been said yet.
