On Thursday December 21, Ibadan’s most influential online platform, IBPulse, hosted The Homecoming Edition of its entrepreneurs-focused event dubbed After5ive. This edition had in attendance several stakeholders from the government, organised private sector, entrepreneurs in both tech and non-tech sectors including Oyo state’s honorable commissioner for finance and budget, Abimbola Adekanmbi, Mogaji Niyi Ajao, Special Adviser – ICT to Oyo state governor, Wole Odetayo, Executive Director, Wennovation Hub and Tony Rowland Awobode, General Manager thirtytwo FM.
Others in attendance included PP40’s Jumoke Olowookere, Adewale Yusuf, CEO of Techpointng, Adewale Oladipupo, Team Lead: Business Development, TechCityNG, Olanrewaju Abidogun, Curator, ForLoop Ibadan and Ayobami Oyaleke, Founder of Placements.ng
A total of 132 participants attended the event that was hosted by IBPulse founder and CNN/Quartz contributor, Paul Adepoju.
In his remarks, the finance commissioner stressed the need to close the gap between the people and the government; he also brought various government-championed initiatives that entrepreneurs in the state can benefit from to the attention of the participants.
Apart from the cutting of the After5ive cake, the event also featured the unveiling of Ibadan-themed IBPulse-commissioned t-shirt design that sold out within one hour.
Participants discussed matters arising in the city as government officials in attendance attempted to inform entrepreneurs in attendance about how to get the information, help and assistance they desired.
