I was at the Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba this evening to watch Oluyole Warriors – Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan (3SC) play the defending champion of the Globacom Premier League, Kano Pillars Football Club. The match ended 1-nil in favour of 3SC.
Fans of 3SC turned up en masse to support the team, even though everyone had to pay a N100 ticket fee. The match was quite entertaining as both sides had great scoring chances even though the only goal in the game was scored in the first half.
Being the first time I would be watching a premier league soccer game at the stadium, I can’t help but commend the impressive state of the pitch and raise concerns over the security situation within the stadium.
During the break, I could see several fans that were drinking all sorts of alcoholic drinks right there in the stadium. One of them actually brought a bottle Guinness lager beer to my side. The bottle later dropped and got broken into pieces. I inhaled hemp smoke and was really scared to the extent that I had to stop live tweeting to prevent getting robbed.
I thought the league board outlawed the sale of alcoholic drinks within the stadium. I hope this is urgently looked into to prevent scaring football fans like me who do not drink alcohol nor smoke cigarettes away from the stadium.
The Oracle has spoken. lol. I went with my very good camera so check out the pics I took below.
