Students of The Polytechnic Ibadan have appealed to the state government to come to their aid regarding the victims of the road accident that claimed the lives of 4 students and 2 members of staff of the institution with several others sustaining different degrees of injuries.
The students under the umbrella body of the National Association of Polytechnic student (NAPS) made the appeal while on a condolence recession held in the premises of Oyo State secretariat. They were with placard with various inscription such as “we need urgent intervention”, government come to our rescue”, “our students are under intense care unit”.
They were attended to by the deputy governor of Oyo state, chief Moses Adeyemo.
In his remark, the president of the association, Mr. Olugbenga Adeyeye said the procession was to appeal to the state government to come to the aid of the injured persons.
In his remark, the deputy governor said he commensurate with the institution and he advised the students to desist from unnecessary journey while advising them to focus more on their studies. He promised to convey their message to Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
