Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi today revealed that when the Agodi Gardens is commissioned later this month, the facility would be like a small Dubai inside Nigeria.
Speaking at the ongoing Oyo State Economic Summit in Ibadan the state capital, Ajimobi said the reconstruction project ongoing at the recreation facility is meant to raise the standard in tourism in Nigeria.
“Agodi Gardens will be a small Dubai inside Nigeria. It will be a place for relaxation and recreation,” Ajimobi said.
Speaking on the facilities that will be available at Agodi Gardens when completed, the governor said it would have a standard swimming pool, a 9-hole golf course, 100 chalets, lake for boat riding, a zoological garden and well-fed wildlife.
The governor also announced that the lioness at the zoo is currently pregnant.
“It will be opened later this month which means it will host an Easter party; it will also have a small shopping center,” the governor said.

The Agodi Gardens according to the governor is an important component of the leisure triangle of Oyo state which is located around the Premier Hotel axis. He also revealed that the rejuvenation project was undertaken in partnership with a South African firm (AM & SEA).
