Residents of Odo-Ona, Oluyole, others to experience power outage on Saturday – IBEDC


Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has announced that several areas in Ibadan would on Saturday, January 11 2014 experience power outage from 9am to 1pm. 

This it said is necessary to allow the company energize the newly completed 33kv New Express feeder from Ayede 330/132/33kv Transmission Station to Interchange Injection Sub-station.

The areas that will be affected are Ago-Taylor, Akinyemi Way, Gbekuba, IAR&T, Iyaganku, Joyce-B, Liberty Road, Odo-Ona, Oluyole and environs.

In a statement issued by Niyi Olaitan, acting Head of Public Affairs, IBEDC, the company said the New Express 33kv feeder will improve the quality of power supply to all the feeders radiating from Interchange Injection Sub-station.

“This new development would also increase the number of hours of power supply that customers on all the feeders will enjoy. This improvement would materially impact customers at Felele,Lead City University, CRIN, Challenge, Odo-Ona Kekere, Orita, Podo, Sanyo and environs.

“IBEDC Management regrets any inconvenience which the outage may cause it’s valued customers, while assuring them of continuous commitment to the improvement in the supply of electricity” the statement said.
