5 most booked hotels in Ibadan

Every time I see hotels in Ibadan, I often ask myself which ones are making money and which ones are struggling to survive. So I reached out to Nigeria’s leading online hotel booking platform Jovago, for information on how frequent hotels in Ibadan are getting booked.
Interestingly, the platform told IBPulse.com that they get lots of clients who are booking hotels in Ibadan.
“Ibadan is one of our prime destinations and we get a lot of traffic to Ibadan, with booking requests,” Jovago told IBPulse.com.
A look at the 5 most  booked hotels in Ibadan showed new generation hotels are really catching up considering the fact that out of the 5 most booked hotels on Jovago, only one of those hotels that have been popular for years made it to the list. The rest are new generation hotels.
Here is the countdown of Ibadan’s top 5 most booked hotels on Jovago.
Number 5 – OldTown Hotel
This hotel is located at Samonda and is very close to the University of Ibadan. So I’m guessing  this hotel is enjoying proximity to the premier university. Samonda is also one of the emerging areas in Ibadan – it is home to the  Ventura  Mall. So I guess this could also be a major reason.
Number 4 – Genesis Hotel
This hotel is at Challenge along Molete Road in the heart of Ibadan. There are lots of cool places in this area. First of all, we have numerous companies with foreign nationals as members of staff. There is also Palms Mall close by. But I believe the companies in the area are the ones responsible for the bookings.
Number 3 – Westshore Hotel
This hotel is located at Oluyole Estate, Ring Road Ibadan. The reason is the same as that of Genesis Hotel. The location appears to be much closer to the foreign companies including P&G.
Number 2 – Carlton Gate Hotel
This is located at Agodi GRA. It is very close to the Government House, Federal, Secretariat, Ibadan Civic Center, banks in Iwo road… I can go on. So I guess market is understandably good at the hotel.
Number 1 – Kakanfo Inn
Kakanfo Inn needs no introduction in Ibadan. It is the only hotel that is rich enough to advertise on Ajumose buses. It features an outdoor pool, a gym and a grand conference centre. Complimentary WiFi is internet access is also available throughout the hotel.
All rooms and suites in the hotel have a full size bathroom, a refrigerator, air conditioning, a flat screen TV with international channels and a private balcony with scenic views of the area.
The hotel is also being used by organizers of major events including Nigerian Idols and Glo Laff Fest. When these events are  held, Kakanfo Inn serves  as venue and its rooms are booked for the celebs.
I know you are also wondering what happened to KS Motel and Premier Hotel? I guess they are not embracing technology as quickly as these 5 hotels are. But as long as people are booking rooms, they have nothing to worry about…yet.
