Ibadan oil tanker fire kills 3, properties worth millions destroyed

Tragedy struck today in the ancient city of Ibadan when an oil tanker belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) went up in flames. 

The tragedy struck at Energy Filling Station, Orogun Junction along Iwo Road/Ojoo Expressway when the tanker caught fire and exploded in flames while offloading its highly inflammable content.
During the inferno, eight shops were torched and two SUV cars were also burnt beyond repair. 
Eyewitness account revealed that the incidence occurred when the truck fall off the road. While it lasted, the entire area was filled with smoke and shop owners and occupants of torched houses made frantic efforts to retrieve valuable items.
