Jumia announces 15% cash back and free delivery for Ibadan customers
I told you that ecommerce giant Jumia Nigeria has its eyes set on conquering Ibadan. Way back in 2013, I spoke to the company’s former head of offline marketing, my good friend, Afam Anyika, who said the focus of Jumia was to launch in all major cities in Nigeria (read the interview here).
This week, the company revealed it is offering its shoppers in Ibadan free delivery and 15% cash back which is only for the first 5,000 customers.
Interestingly, Jumia, even with its 2 offices in Ibadan, is not the only ecommerce giant that is targeting the city as there are several other major platforms with outlets in Ibadan including Jumia’s competitor Konga, DealDey, MallforAfrica and Yudala among others.
I’ve visited Jumia’s offices in Ibadan and you can check out the pictures of the outlet at Bodija here.
Just this week, I identified 5 annoying things about Jumia’s operations in Ibadan, you can check them out here. The goal isn’t to discredit the company but to call the company’s attention to what is happening in order to improve quality of services to Ibadan customers.
