Nigerians plying the Lago-Ibadan expressway have urged contractors that were awarded the project for the highway, Julius Berger Nigeria Limited and RCC Ltd to commence work on the road immediately.
In an open letter published in Nigerian Tribune, Kareem Adebayo, a Lagos state resident decried the delay in the project after the government had revoked an earlier agreement it made with Bi-Courtney Services Company.
Adebayo noted that the road is important to the region.
“The road project is of utmost importance to the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, that he came all the way from Abuja to attend the launching of the rehabilitation of the road at the Sagamu interchange.
“However, since that event, nothing much has been done on the road, and I am using this opportunity to call on the two construction companies to commence work without further delay,” he said.
