Four exciting experiences to expect at TedxBodija 2015
TEDxBodija has its root from the global organization, TED Conferences LLC, New York and was launched in Ibadan in 2013 by its official licensee, Olufemi Babalogbon, a passion-driven innovator. Ever since then, the event is known to spread new ideas to the people of Ibadan and beyond. TEDxBodija 2015 will take place on the 6th of December, 2015 at Le Chateau Event Centre, Bodija G.R.A, Ibadan. The speakers for this year, seasoned and exceptional in their various fields, are selected from Ibadan, Abuja, Lagos and London.
According to M.D. Tiamiyu, the Project Director for TEDxBodija, “This time around, our Speakers and participants will go deeper into the concepts introduced through talks, we hope to provide the audience up-close-and-personal contact with speakers and ideas, in a format that encourages discussion and learning.”
Last year’s event focused on the theme ‘ideas hidden from sight’ and was held at the Nu Streams Conference Centre, Ibadan. The event even got the official recognition of Oyo State Government. TEDxBodija launches outstanding conferences year in year out and is highly rated by the people of Ibadan as a platform of positive change and new ideas. The theme for this year gives a spark and is titled ‘Innovation: Thinking Upside Down’.
TEDxBodija 2015 identifies, revels, and showcases the quantum thoughts of men and women who have challenged intuition, theories and power. TEDxBodija 2015 event will be inspiring people and businesses in a redefined dimension and is open to everyone in Ibadan and beyond.
According to exclusive information made available to IBPulse by Titilope Adedokun, Media Relations Manager of TEDxBodija, attendees of the event will be walked through some sessions. Firstly, the audience will be inspired by innovation as the event will unveil two mobile apps which are SwapNaija – an app for converting airtime across different telecommunication networks; and Orbi – a social app for audiotweets. These two mobile apps were designed by young technopreneurs who are residents of Ibadan.
Secondly, the audience will be challenged to conquer fear through stories of bravery and adventures that will be shared by the speakers and the secrets of their great exploits. Thirdly, the audience will be inspired to revive values that have helped humanity triumph over centuries, leading all to reflect on the risk of losing the essence of humanity in a technology age. The fourth session which will bring in an exciting and relaxed atmosphere with various performances, such as poetry, music, comedy and dance.
