Work has fully resumed at the University College Hospital Ibadan following the decision of the striking doctors under the umbrella body of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) yesterday (Thursday)) decided to call off the strike called to press home their demands.
According to the association, the ongoing fight against Ebola virus disease was the reason why the association decided to suspend its strike action.
The announcement was made the National President of the NMA, Dr. Kayode Obembe on Thursday. He said that the body decided to call off the strike to support government in efforts and measures to stop further spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Nigeria.
He however affirmed that negotiations on the association’s 24-point demand which led to the strike would still continue.
